If you were looking to add a smaller diameter blower compressor pulley to your Shelby Mustang GT500, you're in for a surprise. You will quickly find that by decreasing the pulley size does increase power, but it also increases belt slip reducing the power potential of the smaller pulley.
To accommodate the need of the smaller pulley and maximize performance gains for the performance enthusiast, we went to the engineers at Metco and asked if they could come up with a safe and cost effective solution to this dilemma.
As a result, Metco developed, tested and has now made available, the new Metco Auxiliary Idler for the Shelby GT500.
This true-grip auxiliary idler kit is designed to wraps the blower belt over 88% around the compressor pulley, effectively eliminating belt slip at any rpm. The bracket is made from CNC aircraft quality 6160 billet machined aluminium for a perfect fit.
Designed as a direct bolt-on installation this kit is quite simple, includes all of the special parts needed and should take no more than 1/2 hour to complete.
